Macbeth Process
Character Analysis.
During the process of Macbeth I was assigned 5 roles in the performance, Witch 2, Murderer 2, Doctor, Donalbain and Servant.
All the characters were completely different and opposite end of the scale point of view on things which meant I had to change between the roles and mindsets quickly, this all being practiced repetitively.
Which characters were hard to play and why?
Witch 2 was hard to play because it completely puts you out of your comfort zone and a witch isn't something that you act as on a regular basis. Witch 2 made me have to block out the judgement of others as it is quite a funny role to watch, making it easy to judge and making it harder for the actor.
Working as a group.
As part of blue group I came to realise there were a lot of things we could work out between us but there were also a lot we couldn't, it took us quite a while to stick to a costume style of a certain time period, and too decide which time period this would be. Eventually it all became a bit modern and we even included a rap during the witches part to add a feel of musical into it.
A lot of production ideas also came into play very well, we added dark lighting to the witch scenes and played lightning/rain sounds in the background to create an atmosphere of gloominess around the witches. And our communication between the group was great, every time someone had an idea we had a group chat outside of college to post it in so we could all view it and feed off of it and input our own ideas/add-ons.
Fight scene instructor
We also had a fight scene instructor come in and teach us ways of combat on stage while being safe but making it seem real, as I already do a fighting style outside of college this was very fun, engaging and almost came as second nature to me, I also got to input some of my ideas of how the victims could make it seem more realistic.
