Hamilton Performance and Q&A

I found the performance by the cast very emotionally moving because the actors were so attached to their character that the emotions they played were real and this was shown at the end of the performance where some of the actors were still crying, this helped me realise the depth of being in character and how to trigger my emotion to fit the characters purposes and really engage the audience. Two great ways of triggering emotions are 1. Using your experiences in your real life to trigger the emotion by thinking about the experience, but this can be a bit much for some people because they can't do it without then being stuck in the state of mind so another way is no 2. to create an experience and use that to bring out the emotion, this tends to be an easier way because after the performance you can just drop the emotion because it was only an imagined experience.

The Q&A was really helpful because I personally found some of the questions asked very relevant to everything I do currently, the main answer was to be respectful of the people around you and expect the same back as well as being accepting to other peoples choices an example of this mutual respect in Hamilton was at the end they all bowed together and a lot of the backstage people were in the middle of the group to show they are just as important as the main characters. Another important thing I learnt from this Q&A is teamwork, teamwork is crucial because you know what they say, teamwork makes the dream work! The reason I think teamwork is so crucial is because having others by your side opens you up to others perspectives and others ways of going about things.
