Partnering and Learning Scripts
Day 5, 17th September
Roman and I tried different ways of practicing our piece so an example of this is being very chilled and being very sarcastic or angry/loud, we also stood up in the middle of the class room to get a feel of how we'd move/place ourselves within the space, then we were asked to perform it in front of the class with them in a circle around us, while performing after the first performance which was performed how we decided to perform, then Rob, our teacher asked us to perform as if we were in a café and didn't want others to hear us talking but still with emotion of anger, which was weird and hard but we got the hang of it the reason it was weird/hard is because we had to be quiet while showing emotion of anger and sarcasm which isn't a common thing in society since when people are angry they release it with a lot of energy.
Partnering up and learning scripts..
In this lesson we were partnered up with either a group or a partner and given scripts to then go off and practice, I was partnered up with a familiar face Roman, I know Roman because we both auditioned on the same day as each other, this provided us with a bit of comfortability.
Roman and I were given a piece from Antigone where the characters Creon and Haemon are arguing because Creon doesn't like Haemon's girlfriend. We were chosen our characters for us but were told we can change them if we want to but we stuck with what we were given and that is that Roman is Creon, and I am Haemon. Roman and I took our scripts and practiced repetitively to get to know the script and the emotions within it.
